Families are welcome at our Cottage. There are great days out for the kids, beaches to explore and great Castles to visit. Alnwick Castle was the original Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films and a great day out for the family. There's so much for families to enjoy in Northumberland, but there's also plenty to occupy them inside and around the Cottage. Why not feed the ducks by the river bank, go to a local park or enjoy a riverside walk.
A few things we provide for the kids include:
The Cottage Guide also has a section devoted to 'things to do for kids'. These include Whitehouse Farm Centre, Alnwick Castle, Alnwick Gardens, Morwick Ice Cream Parlour, Castle Mania indoor play centre, Farne Island trips and cycle hire.
The nearest GP surgery is on the village high street, along with a convenience store selling everything you and your children might need.
NB: For health and safety reasons we do not supply bedding with the travel cot. Parents are advised to bring their own.
We also welcome your pets to the Cottage. A lot of self catering properties don't allow pets, but we believe they are part of the family just as much as the kids! Northumberland has a huge amount to offer the dog owner, it is one of the few counties in the UK that has no restrictions on dogs accessing it's beaches. The area around the Cottage is perfect for dog walking with off road riverside paths right from the front door. We accept well behaved dogs (maximum two) over the age of 12 months, on the understanding they are not allowed on the furniture and do not cause any damage.
For the pet owners we provide:
